Foot and Ankle, Joint Replacement
Dr. Gregory Kirwan is the newest surgeon to join Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates. Dr. Kirwan has been the missing piece to our practice and is one of the area’s only fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeons specializing in foot and ankle. Dr. Kirwan brings a wealth of experience and will treat the full gamut of foot and ankle injuries and conditions.
Dr. Kirwan completed his bachelor's degree at the United States Naval Academy, where he also participated in Crew and Football during his undergraduate experience. Dr. Kirwan served in the Navy as an Air Transfer and Operations Officer and was decorated with 7 medals and commendations during his 5 years of service. Dr. Kirwan continued to complete medical school and orthopaedic residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Kirwan completed a fellowship in orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center.
Dr. Kirwan has contributed to several publications and given multiple presentations on a whole host of topics from Achilles Tendon ruptures to Ankle Sprains to Orthoapedic Trauma and the Utilization of Wound Vacs. Dr. Kirwan has also been highly involved in youth sports and serves as the team physician for a highly competitive travel lacrosse club.
Outside of work, Dr. Kirwan enjoys spending time with his family. He also likes to stay active through golf and exercise.
