Scott C. McGovern, M.D.

Neck and Back

Dr. McGovern is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in spinal surgery. At Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates, he works to prevent, diagnose, and treat the diverse ailments of the nerves, spinal cord, bones, and discs of the spine.

Dr. McGovern enjoys uncovering how each patient’s personal story brings to light the biology of the nervous system and the mechanics of the musculoskeletal system. He chose to specialize in spinal surgery to treat patients’ problems with as little surgery as possible, and he relies on minimally invasive, percutaneous, microscopic and motion-preserving surgeries that may involve shorter recovery time and less discomfort.

Dr. McGovern brings the most advanced, innovative diagnostic and therapeutic technologies and techniques to the practice from his advanced orthopaedic and neurosurgical spinal fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic and UCLA. Each patient receives a comprehensive evaluation with timely, efficient assessment and treatment.
